Community Manager

Posted Jul 28

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage the community Slack, overseeing daily operations. Respond promptly, direct complex inquiries, stimulate discussions, and ensure no question goes unanswered. Establish norms, channels, and foster a positive culture.

• Collaborate across the organization. You will act as a liaison between customer support, engineering, and product teams, managing stakeholder interactions. Direct issues to the appropriate owner, follow up until resolutions are achieved, advocate for the community's needs in the roadmap, and ensure effective closure of feedback loops.

• Organize events and support grassroots initiatives. Conduct Founder AMAs, build-alongs, office hours, power-user roundtables, and launches, managing them from start to finish. Facilitate local meetups, community-driven challenges, and empower champions who wish to host their own events. You provide the structure and resources for grassroots efforts to thrive.

• Oversee the broader community presence. Viktor's community extends beyond Slack. You will moderate our Reddit presence (including a new subreddit we will launch) and manage our review platforms, such as Trustpilot and G2. Lead campaigns that transform satisfied users into public endorsements, ensuring our ratings continue to improve.

• Engage and activate members. Convert signups into community participants, and elevate participants to champions. Design onboarding processes, welcome sequences, prompts, challenges, and recognition initiatives to encourage progression.

• Communicate feedback to the team. Serve as an early-warning system by identifying common bugs, requested features, and obstacles faced by users. Recognize patterns, document them, and present them to the relevant team members for action.

• Cultivate a champion network. Identify individuals already advocating for Viktor and incentivize them to increase their involvement through ambassador programs, early access, spotlights, and swag offers.

• Transform community interactions into content and evidence. Leverage the best workflows, stories, and testimonials as case studies, social media posts, and marketing materials to drive growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in community management, having previously run a Slack/Discord/forum/subreddit for a product, preferably in B2B SaaS, developer tools, or AI, with demonstrable results before and after your involvement.

• Naturally social in online settings. You initiate conversations, make individuals feel acknowledged, and bring humor to discussions. Authenticity is key.

• A skilled coordinator who effectively drives outcomes across teams. You can manage stakeholders in support, engineering, and product, hold them accountable, and follow through without needing managerial oversight. You serve as the connective tissue rather than a bottleneck.

• An operator, not solely focused on vibes. You organize events, develop onboarding processes, monitor engagement, and ensure follow-through. You deliver results.

• Technically inquisitive. You can engage with technical users, comprehend workflows, and grasp the core functionalities of Viktor. AI-savvy.

• An articulate writer. You communicate clearly and warmly, crafting concise messages that resonate.

• Adaptable in chaotic environments. You thrive in small teams with full ownership and no established playbook. You make decisions and take action.

🏝️ Benefits

• Competitive salary and an ownership opportunity that is unique to this stage of growth.
