β’ Foster and expand online communities for Wikipedia and the Wikimedia Foundation.
β’ Create tone-of-voice guidelines for the organization's social media presence.
β’ Recognize and leverage real-time cultural moments to engage with audiences.
β’ Contribute to the community management playbook for Wikipedia.
β’ Monitor and report on engagement metrics and community sentiment.
β’ Over 2 years of experience in community management across various social media platforms.
β’ Deep understanding of social media platform dynamics and the ability to craft effective messaging tailored to each (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts).
β’ Proven capability to engage genuinely with online communities and manage multiple accounts or brands. Experience in using social listening tools to monitor community discussions is essential.
β’ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in developing a distinct tone of voice for brands on social media.
β’ Strong editorial judgment, including the ability to determine when to escalate issues or disengage rather than respond.
β’ Cultural awareness and sensitivity to how community engagement initiatives may be perceived in different regions and languages.
β’ Ability to work effectively across functions with distributed, remote teams across various time zones and locations.
