This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Develop and oversee social content that authentically engages the developer and DBA community.
• Collaborate with our engineering specialists to elevate community voices and content.
• Establish and nurture relationships with partner organizations and their communities for collaborative events and initiatives.
• Produce video and short-form content that brings the social engagement strategy to life, utilizing AI-assisted tools for enhanced efficiency without sacrificing quality.
• Manage daily engagement on the Percona Forum and Community Slack by welcoming new members, addressing or directing inquiries, and fostering active and healthy discussions.
• Assess community health and sentiment across various channels, identifying issues and celebrating successes.
• Cultivate relationships with active contributors, MVPs, and long-standing community members.
• Travel to conferences, meetups, and partner events to represent Percona and oversee booth or table activities.
• Provide regional support for community and partner events, including swag, schedules, and on-site troubleshooting.
• Serve as the on-site point of contact, capable of making real-time decisions when challenges arise.
• Assist in managing and continuously enhancing internal community programs (e.g., ambassador/advocate programs, contributor recognition, onboarding for new community members).
• Coordinate internally with Marketing, Product, and Engineering to ensure programs align with company objectives.
• Monitor program metrics and report on community growth and engagement.
• Conduct light-to-moderate coding and maintenance on Percona's community website (content updates, bug fixes, small feature work).
• Proven experience in running or actively contributing to an online community (forum, Slack, Discord, or similar), preferably in an open-source, developer, or technical context.
• Proficient in basic-to-intermediate coding (e.g., HTML/CSS/JS or similar) for website maintenance; you don’t need to be a senior engineer, but you should be able to make changes independently.
• Experience in planning or supporting in-person events, with the willingness and ability to travel frequently.
• Social media proficient, with an understanding of what resonates with developer and technical audiences.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable representing the team publicly both online and in person.
• Self-motivated and organized, capable of juggling community moderation, program responsibilities, event logistics, and minor development tasks within the same week.
• Genuine passion for open source and developer communities.
• Experience in video editing or creation.
