Community Engagement Specialist – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish and nurture relationships with local educational institutions, PTAs, sports teams, and community entities.

• Discover and propose fundraising opportunities to local businesses and organizations.

• Work together with store managers to ensure events are scheduled and adequately resourced.

• Engage potential partners through direct messaging on social media platforms (such as Facebook, Instagram, etc.).

• Conduct outbound calls to schools and businesses to present partnership opportunities.

• Craft and send professional, well-articulated messages via email and social media channels.

• Organize School Pizza Nights and other fundraising activities.

• Plan and promote community events, including table tents, spirit nights, and donation solicitations.

• Monitor outreach efforts, partnership status, and event outcomes using a simple CRM or spreadsheet.

• Provide weekly reports on outreach activities and partnership development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous experience as a Community Engagement Specialist/Manager, or in a comparable community outreach, local marketing, or partnership development position.

• Proven experience in outreach — cold calling, prospecting, or directly pitching to businesses or organizations.

• Comfortable and confident in making outbound phone calls as a fundamental aspect of the role.

• Relevant experience in the food, restaurant, or local/franchise marketing sectors is highly preferred (candidates with backgrounds primarily in beauty or clothing brand engagement will not be considered, as this outreach approach does not translate).

• Excellent organizational skills with a proven track record of managing multiple ongoing relationships or projects concurrently.

• Strong written communication skills across email and social media direct messages.
