Community Engagement Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee the community from start to finish. Act as the primary point of contact for the Texas Sports Academy family community, which includes managing communications, fostering member engagement, ensuring timely responses, and enhancing the overall member experience.

• Organize and facilitate online events. Create, schedule, and manage virtual events such as informational sessions for parents, speaker panels, social gatherings for student-athletes, Q&A sessions, and family meetups. Expand into in-person events as the community develops.

• Coordinate with speakers and guests. Identify, reach out to, and confirm appropriate speakers (coaches, athletes, educators, parents, and partners), while overseeing all logistical aspects of events from invitations to follow-ups.

• Interact with members on a daily basis. Address inquiries, monitor community channels, and maintain a steady presence across group chats, social media platforms, email, and the parent portal.

• Respond to family inquiries. Provide prompt and accurate information regarding Texas Sports Academy’s programs, policies, schedules, and resources, and direct specialized inquiries to the relevant team members.

• Manage the community calendar. Develop and oversee a continuous calendar of events and engagement opportunities to keep families connected throughout the year.


⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in community management. Proven track record of building or managing an engaged community for a school, athletic program, membership organization, brand, or similar entity.

• Expertise in event planning and execution. Demonstrated ability to plan, promote, and execute events from inception to completion, including outreach and coordination with speakers.

• Excellent communication skills. Professional, clear, and empathetic written and verbal communication abilities, with a knack for effectively engaging parents and student-athletes.

• Proactive and organized. Capability to juggle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision in a remote setting.

• Background in athletics. Personal experience as an athlete, coach, or in a sports-related capacity, with a genuine understanding of the youth athletics landscape and the families involved.

• Residency in Texas. Candidates must be located in Texas, with a preference for those in the Austin area to support future in-person programming.

• AI-first mindset. Comfort with utilizing AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity) as an integral part of daily workflows, including drafting communications, planning events, analyzing engagement data, and automating repetitive tasks.

• Bonus Points

• Skills in content and communications. Experience in writing parent communications, producing short-form video content, or managing social media accounts for a family-oriented audience.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish). A considerable portion of our families are Spanish-speaking; fluency in both languages is highly advantageous.

• Proficiency in tools. Familiarity with platforms such as Mailchimp or Beehiiv, Notion, Slack, Zoom, and parent communication portals.
