This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Develop and implement customized community outreach, public education, and stakeholder management strategies throughout the clean energy and power-infrastructure asset lifecycles.
• Lead a committed team of Community Engagement Professionals, setting operational standards, providing direct mentorship, and outlining clear career pathways.
• Employ stakeholder analysis and mapping tools to assess social risks, community sentiments, and local impacts during the initial project siting phase.
• Foster constructive, long-lasting relationships with municipal and county officials, agricultural leaders, school boards, and rural community stakeholders.
• Represent Intersect with authenticity and openness during public hearings, town halls, community workshops, and industry forums.
• Oversee local community investment projects and economic development agreements to enhance tangible benefits for the community.
• Collaborate continuously with internal Development, Permitting, Legal, and Policy teams to ensure community messaging aligns with project execution timelines.
• Convert local community insights and policy nuances into actionable intelligence for executive and project development decision-making.
• Proactively identify and address local regulatory, social, and reputational risks that may affect project delivery or long-term operations.
• Guide community engagement strategies from initial siting through to long-term operations.
• Enhance trust, transparency, and collaboration within communities where large-scale power and infrastructure projects are established and managed.
• Bachelor’s degree in public affairs, communications, environmental studies, or a related field.
• Over 8 years of experience in public affairs, communications, or community engagement within utility-scale power, energy infrastructure, or heavy civil development.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience managing direct reports.
• Proven success in developing and leading high-performing external affairs teams.
• Demonstrated experience with navigating projects in Texas.
• Strong understanding of rural community dynamics, agricultural priorities, and local government frameworks.
• Proficient in stakeholder analysis and mapping tools to evaluate siting, risk profiles, and local impacts.
• Empathetic, highly collaborative, and audience-sensitive communication abilities.
• Capacity to build trust across diverse political and cultural landscapes.
