Community Development Consultant – On Call

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including public housing authorities and HUD Community Planning and Development (CPD) grantees.

• Concentrate on generating economic opportunities by implementing the Section 3 requirements associated with HUD grantees.

• Create and deliver training sessions, presentations at conferences, workshops, and webinars.

• Provide technical assistance, either in person or through virtual platforms using web-based software.

• Emphasize best practices and innovative strategies pertaining to HUD programs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Public Administration, Planning, Public Policy, Government, or a related field, or a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a similar area.

• At least 10 years of experience with HUD programs, particularly in administering programs where Section 3 serves as an economic opportunity initiative.

• A foundational understanding of HUD reporting systems (e.g., IDIS, DRGR, and other PHA reporting systems) relevant to Section 3 reporting.

• Proven track record in developing and conducting trainings, workshops, and webinars; program assessments and evaluations; facilitation; and public speaking to diverse audiences.
