Community Association Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary advisor to HOA and COA boards throughout Florida.

• Offer advice on governance, budgeting, reserves, and operational decision-making.

• Provide practical legal counsel on regulatory and compliance issues.

• Draft, review, and modify governing documents, such as Declarations, Bylaws, and Rules.

• Assist with developer turnover and help in structuring community associations.

• Perform document audits and suggest updates to ensure compliance with current laws.

• Keep abreast of Florida community association laws and regulatory developments.

• Convert legal updates into actionable guidance for clients.

• Aid associations in maintaining statutory and regulatory compliance.

• Assist with covenant enforcement issues and pre-litigation procedures.

• Support litigation activities, including drafting demands, pleadings, and motions.

• Advise on assessment collection strategies in collaboration with the firm’s collections team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar.

• 2–5 years of legal experience, ideally involving community association law, real estate, or litigation.

• Proficient drafting skills for legal documents, contracts, and/or litigation materials.

• Capability to analyze intricate legal issues and provide clear, organized advice.

• Strong organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail and follow-through.

• Professional and straightforward communication style with both clients and colleagues.

• Experience with Florida community association law, either transactional or litigation, is preferred.

• Familiarity with developer turnover, governance structuring, or document modifications is preferred.

• Exposure to covenant enforcement, collections, or relevant litigation is preferred.

• Engagement with the Community Associations Institute (CAI) or a desire to participate is preferred.
