This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Design and manage communication and engagement strategies that effectively share information, enhance stakeholder involvement, and align with client goals.
• Oversee the planning and implementation of integrated communication campaigns, which include message creation, change management efforts, social marketing activities, and omnichannel communication methodologies.
• Offer strategic advice to clients and project teams regarding communication best practices, audience engagement, and content creation.
• Direct media relations and external outreach efforts across various projects, including the formulation of media strategies, building press and stakeholder relationships, developing pitches, media engagement, and monitoring/reporting on outreach effectiveness.
• Guide the creation and quality assessment of a diverse array of communication products, such as communication plans, newsletters, social media content, blogs, feature articles, presentations, talking points, speeches, fact sheets, marketing materials, email campaigns, reports, and technical communications.
• Spearhead stakeholder engagement initiatives aimed at broadening client reach, fortifying relationships, and enhancing audience participation.
• Develop and oversee project timelines for communication initiatives, coordinating resources and team efforts to ensure timely delivery and adherence to deadlines.
• Supervise team members, manage assignments, track time, and resolve issues. Accountable for quality, performance management, and training.
• Create and uphold quality review processes for communication and engagement deliverables.
• Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, business, or related fields.
• 6+ years of relevant experience; additional education may substitute for experience.
• 2+ years of project management experience.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in content development, including the ability to simplify complex scientific information for diverse audiences and adaptability across formats like web, social media, and technical writing.
• Experience in health communications strategy and planning, including campaign development, change management, message formulation, and omnichannel strategies.
• Relevant experience leading projects and teams, assigning tasks, implementing quality review processes for all deliverables, and ensuring timely follow-up on others’ work to meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for direct interactions with clients, colleagues, and leadership, as well as for producing high-quality, client-ready deliverables.
• Proactively aligns work with organizational objectives by collecting and sharing vital information, identifying necessary adjustments, and keeping decision-makers informed as required.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity software and collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
• Previous experience supporting federal government agencies and/or foundational knowledge of government regulations.
