This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with technical teams to transform advancements in maritime autonomy and AI into engaging narratives for a variety of audiences.
• Write briefs, speeches, and talking points for leadership to prepare for critical meetings and public engagements.
• Handle incoming media inquiries and proactively craft our public image with accuracy and efficiency.
• Serve as the liaison between engineering, operations, and external stakeholders to guarantee that messaging is both technically precise and highly impactful.
• Apply high-level judgment in ambiguous situations, selecting the most appropriate tone and content for sensitive topics in defense and emerging technologies.
• Create top-notch written content that shapes the global understanding of our technical concepts and hardware implementations.
• 5–10 years of experience in communications, journalism, or a related discipline.
• A proven history of producing work that clearly articulates complex technical or scientific concepts.
• Exceptional writing skills with a focus on clarity, speed, and technical precision.
• A genuine passion for defense technology, maritime security, and emerging AI.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate uncertain environments and make informed decisions about what information to share with the public or policymakers.
• Comfort with a "startup" environment where responsibilities can change rapidly in response to product milestones or geopolitical developments.
• Prior experience in technical journalism or public affairs within high-growth startups.
• Understanding of the policy landscape regarding autonomous systems and AI.
• Driven by mission and eager to narrate the story behind impactful technology.
