Communications Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Pitch and secure media coverage across mainstream, tier-1, and industry outlets continuously to establish MoonPay as a globally recognized brand.

• Oversee the complete press release lifecycle — from drafting and internal review to legal approval, partner sign-off, and distribution via PR Newswire.

• Develop and sustain MoonPay's network of media contacts, actively seeking new journalists to foster ongoing relationships with key press contacts to enhance future coverage.

• Handle incoming press inquiries, collaborating with internal subject-matter experts to deliver timely and accurate responses.

• Monitor and compile detailed media coverage reports and visibility metrics.

• Create additional content, including blog posts for MoonPay’s Newsroom.

• Assist in sourcing and drafting award nominations and submissions for industry lists.

• Prepare briefing documents and talking points for executives prior to conference panels, fireside chats, and media interviews.

• Support speaker logistics for events, including registrations, scheduling, and coordination with event organizers.

• Collaborate across time zones with product, partnerships, legal, and leadership teams to ensure alignment on messaging and announcement timing.

• Manage relationships with PR tools and vendor platforms.

• Keep the GTM pipeline tracker updated and identify scheduling conflicts or dependencies.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience in journalism, communications, PR, or media relations, preferably in crypto, fintech, or fast-growing tech sectors.

• Excellent writing skills — capable of producing polished, accurate, and engaging press releases, blog posts, briefing documents, and social media content.

• Comfortable collaborating across product, partnerships, and legal teams in a dynamic, async-first environment.

• Highly organized with the aptitude to manage multiple simultaneous projects and a rapidly evolving editorial calendar.

• Familiarity with wire distribution services and PR tools such as Muck Rack, Cision, or similar platforms.

• Knowledge of crypto or blockchain — understanding stablecoins, on/off-ramps, and regulatory landscapes.

• Experience working with external PR agencies and coordinating international media coverage (not mandatory).

• Prior experience at a crypto or fintech-focused PR agency (not mandatory).
