This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.
• Lead the implementation of Change.org’s initiatives in Italy.
• Develop and refine brand and media strategies tailored for Italy.
• Propel impactful storytelling alongside media and social engagement efforts.
• Foster relationships within civil society and political arenas.
• Identify, support, and advance significant people-power campaign moments.
• Enhance recognition of Change.org and its platform campaigns among media and key decision-makers.
• Execute a global media strategy focused on owned and earned channels.
• Establish and implement a national media strategy to secure premier coverage across various political viewpoints.
• Detect and promote petition opportunities via social media.
• Manage and expand networks with editors, producers, journalists, decision-makers, politicians, civic organizations, and influencers.
• Maintain a campaign portfolio that aligns with brand values and ideological diversity.
• Collaborate with functional leads on global brand strategy, departmental objectives, and culture.
• Recruit, develop, and lead high-performing communications teams.
• Utilize insights, performance metrics, and AI tools for campaign planning, pitching, and adaptation.
• Create systems and tools, including testing frameworks and lightweight automation solutions.
• Over 10 years of experience in media, communications, branding, public relations, or campaigning.
• Proven experience leading communications in a mission-driven, social impact, or journalism environment.
• In-depth understanding of diverse audience segments and their needs within Italy.
• Comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of conservative and progressive media landscapes in Italy.
• Established connections with influential journalists, social media figures, civil society representatives, officials, and politicians.
• A high-trust network that includes senior editors, executive producers, and prominent journalists.
• Demonstrated ability to mobilize networks to achieve significant media coverage.
• Extensive skills in executive, corporate, and crisis communication, both written and verbal.
• Capability to influence diverse audiences, internal leadership, and global media platforms.
• Competence in driving strategic alignment among cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• A strategic mindset with innovative ideas for digital campaigning.
• Willingness to support policy-compliant campaigns across varying perspectives.
• Capacity to work independently and complete projects with minimal oversight.
• Experience utilizing insights, performance data, and AI tools.
• Ability to establish systems such as testing frameworks and lightweight automation.
• Proven track record in recruiting, building, and leading high-performing teams.
• Established communications leadership in a mission-driven, social impact, or journalism context.
• History of shaping media narratives and engaging with leading, agenda-setting outlets.
• Success in securing and maintaining high-profile media coverage.
• Experience managing social media channels for a brand, company, or organization.
• Background in leading and mentoring high-performing communications teams.
• Proficiency in English at a minimum B2 level.
