This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Create and produce a diverse array of communications products, such as communications plans, newsletters, messaging, presentations, blogs, social media content, infographics, fact sheets, multimedia assets, and marketing materials.
• Aid in the planning, execution, and assessment of communications strategies and campaigns that effectively share information and enhance the organizational image.
• Assist in coordinating and executing virtual and in-person meetings, events, outreach activities, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of client missions, programs, priorities, and stakeholder audiences to craft targeted and effective communications strategies.
• Work collaboratively with writers, editors, designers, web developers, and project teams to ensure communications products are precise, consistent, and in line with project goals.
• Monitor communications activities, action items, and project deliverables; provide regular updates and proactively communicate any schedule risks or challenges.
• Contribute to the creation and application of branding standards, style guides, quality assurance processes, and best practices in communications.
• Evaluate communications products for quality, consistency, accessibility, and compliance with branding and editorial standards.
• Gather, analyze, and interpret communications-related data from various sources, including social media platforms, website analytics, surveys, and stakeholder engagement efforts.
• Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, business, or related fields.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; additional education may substitute for experience.
• Basic understanding of content development, including the ability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences and adaptability across formats such as web, social media, and technical writing.
• Foundational knowledge of communications strategy and planning, including campaign planning, change management, message development, and omnichannel strategies.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office productivity software and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
• Capability to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for direct interactions with clients, colleagues, and program stakeholders.
• Ability to quickly learn and distill complex information from various sources into clear, engaging, user-friendly formats.
• Strong attention to detail and proven ability to follow instructions effectively.
• Certification in communications, marketing, or public relations, such as PRSA.
• Foundational knowledge of communications research methods, including usability testing, digital analytics, and market and consumer research.
• Basic understanding of conference and event management, including event planning, publicity, exhibit management, and logistics for meetings and speakers.
• Basic knowledge of accessibility, especially regarding 508 compliance for various digital communications materials.
• Experience managing social media accounts with an understanding of social media best practices.
• Intermediate experience with AI tools, their limitations and risks, and their application in supporting project management tasks.
