This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop, oversee, and assess payroll processing systems to guarantee punctual and precise handling of payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
• Compute commission payments on a monthly and quarterly basis in line with sanctioned compensation plans.
• Reconcile commission payouts with bookings and revenue data, addressing any discrepancies.
• Address inquiries from employees or management regarding commission or payroll calculations, and provide necessary documentation.
• Manage annual revisions to the Commissions Plan as required.
• Assist in crafting Individual Compensation Plans for members of the sales team.
• Ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and adjustments to pay rates.
• Prepare and maintain precise records and reports of payroll transactions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour regulations and best practices.
• Facilitate audits by supplying records and documentation to auditors.
• Identify and suggest enhancements to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
• Aid in the preparation of financial analyses and schedules required for audits, and coordinate audit requests with team members.
• Support various special projects and ad hoc tasks as required.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting is mandatory.
• 2+ years of experience in payroll, commissions, or accounting operations.
• Experience in payroll processing, ideally in a multi-state and global setting.
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
• Goal-driven individual capable of multitasking and prioritizing in a dynamic environment.
• Highly motivated, organized, and flexible.
• Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to confidentiality.
• Consistently take ownership of assigned responsibilities and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting while effectively collaborating across teams.
• Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis).
• Experience with Sage Intacct, Rippling, Tipalti, Carta, Salesforce, and Google Sheets is preferred but not essential.
• Bonus: experience within the clean technology sector.
• Base salary ranges from $75,000 to $85,000 annually, depending on experience, along with a 10% annual bonus and equity.
