Commissioning & SCADA Manager – limited 12 months assignment

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Lead and oversee the commissioning and SCADA operations for onshore wind projects throughout the EMEA region.

• Ensure the safe implementation of commissioning activities in accordance with GE Vernova EHS standards and local regulations.

• Supervise the commissioning processes for turbines, balance-of-plant, and grid-related activities.

• Manage the deployment, configuration, testing, and handover of SCADA systems.

• Coordinate the interfaces among commissioning, electrical, grid, IT, and service teams.

• Ensure adherence to customer technical specifications, grid codes, and contract requirements.

• Assist with project timelines, cost management, and risk mitigation pertaining to commissioning and SCADA responsibilities.

• Lead and mentor teams of commissioning engineers and SCADA specialists.

• Promote continuous improvement, standardization, and the sharing of lessons learned across the EMEA region.

• Aid in troubleshooting, conducting root cause analysis, and resolving issues related to commissioning or SCADA.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of formal electrical education.

• At least 7–10 years of experience in wind turbine commissioning, grid integration, and SCADA systems.

• Demonstrated experience managing onshore wind commissioning projects in the EMEA region.

• Strong understanding of wind turbine commissioning processes.

• Knowledge of electrical and grid integration (HV/MV substations, protection, testing).

• Familiarity with SCADA architectures, data communication, and basic cybersecurity principles.

• Proven leadership experience in managing teams or working with cross-functional stakeholders.

• Solid grasp of EHS standards in construction and commissioning settings.

• Experience collaborating with utilities, TSOs, and customers.

• Willingness to undertake extensive travel across the EMEA region.

• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
