This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Support the completion and organization of the documentation turnover package, which includes commissioning documentation, pressure test documentation, O&M manuals, and more.
• Maintain regular communication with the manager regarding any issues encountered or anticipated with the schedule, work scope, or the necessity for additional resources to address problems.
• Uphold Ameresco’s strong safety culture throughout all work activities.
• Travel to vendor facilities to conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on control panels and other equipment supplied by vendors.
• Utilize electrical testing equipment to perform input/output verification checks on discrete and analog control circuits from the PLC cabinet to field devices.
• Identify the root cause of, and implement corrective actions for, any continuity or functionality issues.
• Confirm the operation of discrete and analog valves.
• Configure, test, and calibrate valve actuators and positioners.
• Assist with the setup, configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting of plant servers, process networks, HMI graphics, PLCs, site internet services, VPN tunnels, and plant data historians.
• Update P&IDs, control panel schematics, and other diagrams as necessary following the commissioning drawing revision procedures.
• Provide technical assistance for mechanical and control system troubleshooting.
• Aid in pressure testing, flushing, and purging of piping systems.
• Assist with plant performance testing activities and supervise work performed by subcontracted vendors and commissioning staff.
• Willingness to travel extensively (up to 50% or more) to support commissioning projects as required.
• Perform additional duties as necessary.
• Associate’s degree in a controls-related field, or a comparable combination of education and relevant work experience.
• At least two (2) years of experience in plant commissioning.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with Rockwell Software “Studio5000” is preferred.
• Familiarity with the safe and proper use of multimeters, loop calibrators, and HART communicators is preferred.
• Experience using plant HMI workstations for testing and troubleshooting field equipment is preferred.
• Proficiency in using PLC programming software to test and debug PLC code and I/O systems is preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend P&IDs, control panel schematics, and electrical one-line diagrams is preferred.
• Physical capability to bend, reach, climb, and lift 45 pounds without assistance.
• High level of proficiency with a laptop computer, Windows operating system, MS Word, MS Excel, and PDF editors (e.g., BlueBeam).
