Commercial Underwriting Counsel – National Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Offer underwriting support, advice, and authorization to company staff and clients regarding the issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies.

• Apply underwriting standards and guidelines within assigned authority limits to underwrite the issuance of title insurance.

• Provide direction to company personnel in executing real estate settlement services.

• Establish underwriting standards and guidelines in alignment with established company procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (Law Degree) is mandatory.

• Must be licensed to practice law and in good standing.

• 5-7 years of experience in title underwriting, with a preference for commercial experience.

• Familiarity with real estate law, including federal and state regulations, is essential.

• Strong grasp of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures related to real estate title and settlement processes.

• Demonstrated analytical rigor and business insight.

• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to provide alternative solutions or communicate challenging information with diplomacy.

• Capacity to collaborate and make decisive actions; build relationships both internally and externally.

• Outstanding listening, verbal, and written communication abilities.

• Strong organizational skills, capable of multi-tasking, prioritizing, and following up in a timely manner.

• Ability for abstract thinking and generating creative solutions.
