Commercial P&C Underwriter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Underwriting new business to foster profitable expansion

• Operating within established underwriting parameters and portfolio strategy

• Providing oversight and approval for complex or referred renewal and endorsement activities

• Assessing exposure, coverage structure, pricing adequacy, and policy conditions

• Implementing underwriting guidelines and following referral authority protocols

• Building and managing a profitable portfolio that aligns with performance objectives

• Monitoring performance and taking corrective underwriting actions when necessary

• Cultivating productive relationships with retail agents

• Clearly articulating underwriting appetite to enhance submission alignment

• Utilizing internal technology, data tools, and workflow systems

• Ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with workflow protocols

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of multi-line commercial P&C new business underwriting experience

• Experience in Construction, Hospitality, Real Estate, or Retail & Services sectors

• Strong technical expertise in GL, Property, Auto, Umbrella, and related coverages

• E&S underwriting experience is preferred

• Proven ability to balance growth with disciplined risk selection

• Excellent communication and agency-facing skills
