This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the commercialization strategy for nutrient products, which includes solid digestate and liquid NPK formulations.
• Identify and prioritize target markets, initially focusing on specialty crops (such as vineyards, orchards, and high-value fruit and vegetable systems).
• Convert customer requirements into product specifications, pricing models, and go-to-market strategies.
• Collaborate closely with the R&D Tech Lead, engineering, and operations to co-create product formats, quality specifications, and logistics models.
• Conduct extensive customer discovery among growers, agronomists, distributors, and input providers.
• Recognize unmet needs, value drivers, and willingness to pay across different crop systems and regions.
• Create a pipeline of early adopters and secure partnerships for field trials and pilot programs.
• Establish feedback loops to continuously enhance product-market fit.
• Design and implement field trials in collaboration with growers, universities, and NGOs.
• Work with external partners in related areas, including soil amendments (such as biochar), biologicals/microbial inputs, and regenerative agriculture initiatives.
• Produce data, case studies, and insights to bolster product performance, positioning, and claims.
• Lead coordination with internal and external experts on environmental and regulatory requirements, ensuring that nutrient products comply with applicable standards and are positioned for successful commercialization.
• Develop channel strategies (including direct sales, distributors, and strategic partnerships).
• Assist in the development of branding, positioning, and product narratives.
• Construct commercial models encompassing pricing, margin structure, and scaling paths.
• Advance opportunities from pilot phases to contracted sales.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, agronomy, and finance to ensure readiness for scaling.
• Identify and address bottlenecks in product development, logistics, and customer onboarding.
• Utilize grant funding and partner networks to expedite development and mitigate risks.
• Strong commercial acumen, including experience in pricing, business case development, and/or financial modeling.
• Capability to function effectively in ambiguous, early-stage environments and propel initiatives from concept to execution.
• Experience working across functional teams that are technical, operational, and commercial in nature.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholder groups.
• Proven ability to influence without direct authority and achieve outcomes through collaboration with others.
• Analytical mindset capable of structuring problems and formulating actionable insights.
• Passion for agriculture, sustainability, and market-oriented solutions.
• Background in fertilizers, soil health, specialty crops, agricultural inputs, or related industries.
• Strong product orientation with the ability to translate customer needs into technical product designs.
• Experience working with growers, agronomists, or within agricultural input value chains.
• Experience in conducting or supporting field trials and product validation (preferred).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel as needed.
• Ability to operate in both office and field environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions.
• An MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., agriculture, environmental science, business, or engineering) is preferred.
• Experience in startup, high-growth, or innovation-driven environments is preferred.
• Experience in strategy, consulting, or early-stage business model development is preferred.
