This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Manage and enhance commercial relationships with partners in various markets, including utilities, regulators, MNOs, banks, aggregators, municipalities, and local collaborators.
• Propel newly established partnerships through signed commercial agreements and successful launches.
• Maintain regular communication with counterparties, pursue commercial documentation, and advance agreements through the partners' operational levels.
• Collaborate with the delivery/PMO team to transition launch-ready projects while continuing to serve as the commercial lead.
• Alert leadership when principal-to-principal engagement is necessary.
• Oversee the pipeline and provide consistent updates on relationship and deal progress.
• Represent Finergi on-site and establish a lasting in-country presence.
• Report directly to the Group CEO and collaborate closely with delivery (PMO) and country teams.
• Generally, 10+ years of commercial expertise in business development, partnerships, or key account management.
• Proven history of leading and finalizing complex B2B and government agreements.
• Experience in managing relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Familiarity with operating in African markets within multi-country, multi-stakeholder settings.
• Capability to establish credibility and trust with executives, regulators, and commercial partners.
• Ability to work autonomously, operate efficiently, take ownership of follow-through, and manage multiple deals simultaneously.
• Willingness and capability to travel extensively throughout the region.
• Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Proficiency in French is a notable advantage for Francophone markets, though not a mandatory requirement.
• Background in fintech, payments, mobile money, telecommunications/MNO, energy/utilities, or BNPL/credit products is beneficial.
• An existing network within African telecoms, banking, or energy sectors is advantageous.
• Must be currently based in South Africa.
