This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Prepare, assess, and negotiate a diverse range of commercial agreements, including master agreements with GuidePoint clients, reseller agreements, and data processing contracts.
• Oversee intricate negotiations with advanced enterprise clients and technology partners.
• Offer clear, actionable, and practical advice that empowers the business to progress — focusing on finding solutions rather than merely outlining risks.
• Collaborate closely with our Director of Legal Operations to create, enhance, and uphold contract templates, standardized documents, negotiation strategies, and fallback positions.
• Provide guidance on data privacy and security terms included in commercial agreements, particularly those with cybersecurity-specific requirements.
• Work alongside internal security and compliance teams to ensure that contractual obligations are in line with GuidePoint's security standards.
• Business-focused mindset — you convert legal intricacies into straightforward, actionable advice. This is a critical requirement for a reason.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state.
• 3-8 years of pertinent legal experience, with a strong preference for in-house experience at a technology firm.
• Proven ability to independently draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements with minimal supervision.
• Experience in supporting sales and go-to-market teams in a technology company setting.
• Familiarity with AI-related contractual and regulatory matters is preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills — concise, direct, and aware of the audience.
• Strong organizational abilities with the capability to handle competing priorities independently.
• Comfort in operating remotely and asynchronously across various time zones.
• A collaborative, team-oriented mindset — you engage with people rather than working around them.
• Previous experience at a cybersecurity firm or reseller is preferred.
• Experience negotiating enterprise agreements with legal and procurement representatives from Fortune 500 companies is preferred.
• Understanding of channel and partner agreements, including reseller and MSP frameworks is preferred.
