This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary reviewer for all aspects of commercial contracting, focusing predominantly on sales while also addressing procurement and exploring opportunities such as partnerships and cross-functional collaboration.

• Play a pivotal role in establishing comprehensive in-house sales support from the outset.

• Review, draft, and negotiate customer NDAs, MSAs, Order Forms, and DPAs, emphasizing efficiency, commercial practicality, and scalability.

• Create industry-leading sales enablement materials, internal guidance, and external resources.

• Design efficient processes and intelligent workflows that enhance the scalability of commercial contracting, including playbooks, cross-functional enablement, and the development of new SOPs and workflows for various repeatable tasks, collaborating with our Legal Ops Manager as necessary.

• Act as a responsive and dependable partner to the sales team and other internal stakeholders, someone they actively seek to collaborate with.

• On the procurement front, handle a consistent stream and diverse range of procurement and vendor requests, reviewing and negotiating contracts alongside business owners to ensure marketing, events, and tooling progress swiftly and meet turnaround expectations, while refining our procurement process as we expand.

• Collaborate closely with security, IT, and product teams to ensure accurate and timely responses to prospect and customer questionnaires, while constructing scalable solutions.

• Contribute to the enhancement of legal operations, including workflows, technologies, and tools pertinent to contract work such as CLM and CPQ. You should have a passion for the advancements AI and new tools bring to legal practice, along with proven experience in promoting internal adoption.

• Identify and engage in additional areas as our legal team’s capacity increases, bringing clarity, insight, and a sense of ownership to every task.

• Demonstrate sound judgment and business acumen, including the ability to balance ownership with identifying issues and escalating them appropriately, as well as recognizing when to involve management.


⛳️ Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in the US (or an equivalent qualification in a relevant jurisdiction).

• 6-8 years of legal experience, ideally integrating law firm training with in-house experience at a start-up or a company experiencing significant growth, preferably as an early hire and with SaaS experience.

• Understanding of SaaS business models and standard SaaS contract terms.

• Robust experience in commercial contract negotiation (both customer-side and vendor-side) contributing directly to substantial growth.

• Strong interpersonal skills; you genuinely enjoy collaborating with sales teams and nurturing trusted relationships both internally and externally.

• Good judgment and the ability to balance legal risks with business goals.

• Exceptional written communication skills: capable of explaining legal concepts, new processes, and internal communications in clear, precise language, and developing playbooks and GTM-facing enablement materials. We maintain a high standard for written communication across the company and expect legal to exemplify precise and thoughtful writing, especially concerning strategic and novel projects.

• You take pride in being organized and adept at managing multiple deals and priorities simultaneously, ensuring the transactional day-to-day functions smoothly while allocating time for developmental projects.
