Commercial Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Draft and negotiate essential commercial agreements that are vital to our revenue generation.

• Take charge of intricate, non-standard deals that come with challenging requirements and significant stakes.

• Provide support for corporate governance, board-related matters, and entity maintenance.

• Gain insight into compliance as it relates to real business scenarios — including data privacy and security, export controls, and emerging regulatory issues related to AI.

• Collaborate across the organization as a reliable partner to sales, finance, product, and operations teams.

• Assist in the development of templates, playbooks, and risk frameworks as our business model evolves.

• Create and implement efficient approval workflows and judgment frameworks suitable for a fast-paced company.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of legal experience, including training at a prestigious law firm.

• A background in corporate or commercial law is preferred, particularly experience advising startups or technology firms.

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one state in the U.S.

• A solid understanding of commercial contracts and corporate matters, or the capacity to quickly acquire such knowledge.

• Highly driven and eager to learn, with a strong desire for feedback and professional advancement.

• Willingness to embrace an AI-driven approach to work.

• Excellent judgment and the ability to make decisions based on incomplete information.

• Business-oriented mindset; focused on facilitating business operations while managing risk effectively.

• Interest in developing a comprehensive, generalist in-house practice over time.
