Commercial Construction Estimator – Healthcare

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Generate comprehensive cost estimates for healthcare construction initiatives throughout the conceptual, schematic, design development, and GMP/bid phases.

• Leverage AI estimating software and digital takeoff instruments to improve quantity precision, pricing uniformity, and expedited scenario analysis.

• Assess drawings, specifications, and healthcare-specific criteria (e.g., AHCA, FGI Guidelines, ICRA) to delineate the complete project scope.

• Create estimates that consider phasing, infection control strategies, interim life safety measures (ILSM), and work within occupied spaces.

• Solicit, assess, and standardize subcontractor bids, emphasizing partnerships with healthcare-experienced trades.

• Serve as a communication bridge between the design team and subcontractors by reviewing, clarifying, and aiding in the resolution of preconstruction and estimating-related RFI’s, ensuring alignment of scope while minimizing gaps or overlaps, and maintaining a catalog of all RFI’s and corresponding responses/clarifications.

• Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and preconstruction teams to synchronize estimates with logistics, sequencing, and patient care considerations.

• Identify value engineering solutions that uphold compliance, patient safety, and operational continuity.

• Develop and sustain cost databases tailored to healthcare construction, encompassing historical data and AI-enhanced cost models.

• Assist in the preparation of proposals, budgets, and client presentations for healthcare clients and stakeholders.

• Monitor estimate performance against actual costs to perpetually enhance estimating precision.

• Aid in the preparation of proposals, bid submissions, and client presentations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Over 5 years of estimating experience in commercial construction, particularly focused on healthcare projects.

• Practical experience with AI estimating tools, automated takeoff platforms, or data-driven estimating systems.

• Strong expertise in Excel and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore, or similar).

• Comprehensive understanding of healthcare construction standards, codes, and compliance mandates.

• Capability to read and interpret complex construction documents with a high degree of accuracy.
