This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.
• Oversee commercial construction bids from the initial Invitation to Bid (ITB) to the final estimate submission.
• Conduct thorough material and labor quantity takeoffs based on commercial drawings, specifications, and PDF plan sets.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, contract documents, and scope requirements to pinpoint estimating needs and potential gaps.
• Create precise line-item estimates and detailed scope breakdowns.
• Prepare bid proposals, scope sheets, proposal letters, and project qualifications.
• Clearly define inclusions, exclusions, clarifications, and allowances.
• Manage ITBs using PlanHub.
• Distribute bid invitations to qualified subcontractors and oversee trade coverage.
• Follow up with subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Maintain records of subcontractor contacts and prequalification information.
• Gather and evaluate subcontractor quotes.
• Compare scopes, pricing, exclusions, and qualifications to identify discrepancies.
• Conduct bid leveling to determine accurate and competitive pricing.
• Prepare change order pricing and supporting documentation as needed.
• Identify ambiguities, missing information, conflicts, and scope issues in plans and specifications.
• Draft and track Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Monitor RFI responses and communicate updates to bidding subcontractors.
• Maintain the bid calendar to ensure submission deadlines are met.
• Keep subcontractor databases, contacts, prequalifications, and quote statuses organized and up to date.
• Track active bids from the initial ITB through to final submission.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial construction estimating, including scope development and proposal preparation.
• Strong background in preparing commercial bid proposals that include exclusions, clarifications, allowances, and qualifications.
• Proven track record of performing accurate quantity takeoffs from commercial construction plans.
• In-depth understanding of commercial blueprints, specifications, CSI divisions, and contract documents.
• Practical experience with PlanHub for ITB management.
• Experience with Contractor Foreman is strongly preferred; similar estimating platforms may be considered if adaptability is demonstrated.
• Proficient in digital takeoff tools such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or STACK.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Strong written communication skills for crafting client-facing proposals.
• Confident verbal communication skills for reaching out to subcontractors, follow-ups, and negotiations.
• Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines concurrently.
• A dedicated home office, reliable computer equipment, and high-speed internet are required.
