This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Conduct comprehensive quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications.
• Develop precise budgets and cost estimates for competitive bidding.
• Create bid documentation and address requests for quotations (RFQs).
• Evaluate subcontractor submissions against project drawings and specifications.
• Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors throughout the pre-construction phase.
• Assist with pre-construction communications, documentation, and logistics for projects.
• Oversee multiple estimating and pre-construction tasks concurrently.
• Analyze plans, specifications, and project requirements to determine scope, quantities, and potential challenges.
• Maintain well-organized estimating and project documentation.
• Utilize construction software and digital workflows to enhance estimating and project coordination.
• Actively identify discrepancies, missing information, and potential issues related to estimating or pre-construction.
• Take responsibility for the estimating and pre-construction processes.
• Assist in minimizing operational workload for a streamlined construction team.
• Function independently, take initiative, and advance projects without continual supervision.
• 3–10+ years of experience in construction estimating; around 3–6+ years of practical estimating experience.
• Demonstrated experience in estimating U.S. construction projects.
• A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent practical estimating experience will also be considered.
• Strong capability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in construction estimating software and digital construction workflows.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam.
• Knowledge of Autodesk Build and AI-assisted estimating tools such as Toggle, or the capacity to quickly learn new software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; fluency in English is required.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects or phases effectively.
• Willingness to work full-time and commit to a single client.
• Previous experience with or alongside a U.S. general contractor is preferred.
• Experience in public or private education construction projects is preferred.
• Proficiency in handling both estimating and pre-construction coordination is preferred.
• Experience in reviewing subcontractor submissions and project documentation is preferred.
• Familiarity with RFQs, bid packages, subcontractor coordination, and pre-construction workflows is preferred.
• Willingness to work U.S. Central Time hours.
• Comfort with a month-to-month employment structure and flexibility for two-week notice.
