This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Take ownership of the business development pipeline by tracking active deal workflows across enterprise, academic, and biotech partnerships, ensuring there are no delays, and presenting the right opportunities to leadership at the appropriate moments.
• Manage and cultivate investor relations by maintaining connections with over 70 existing investors through regular updates, slide presentations, and follow-ups, while also advancing new investor relationships alongside the CEO and Head of Commercial.
• Assess enterprise, pharma, and investor communications with sound commercial acumen.
• Organize and prepare for critical calls and meetings across various time zones, ensuring the team is fully briefed before each conversation.
• Draft and enhance investor communications, partnership proposals, and internal updates on behalf of the Commercial Team.
• Establish and maintain a commercial system by developing a framework for categorizing, tracking, and internally reporting on business development opportunities (think: our own streamlined CRM).
• Facilitate cross-functional deal activities, acting as the connective tissue that keeps various organizations and teams aligned in Molecule's business development engagements.
• Analyze the scientific aspects of partnerships by evaluating incoming opportunities with sufficient scientific knowledge to determine what is worth pursuing and briefing leadership accordingly.
• Participate in calls with partners and investors as a credible representative of Molecule when necessary.
• You possess a strong commercial drive. Whether you have a background in tech sales at a startup, business development at a health-tech firm, or have acquired commercial skills alongside your academic pursuits, you understand the importance of pipeline management, follow-up, and the elements required to close deals.
• You are not the typical corporate type. We are not seeking someone who has climbed the corporate ladder within a large pharmaceutical company; instead, we want someone resourceful—perhaps from a biotech startup or someone who has hustled through a top program and is now eager for real ownership.
• You are organized and relentless in ensuring follow-through. This role is crucial in ensuring that the multitude of relationships and deals generated by Molecule do not slip through the cracks.
• You are an effective communicator, equally adept at drafting a board-level investor memo and engaging in conversations with lab partners or key opinion leaders.
• You thrive in complex environments and are energized by managing multiple priorities across deals, relationships, and internal coordination simultaneously.
• You have global flexibility, ideally willing to spend the first few months in Berlin for onboarding and relationship-building with the core team.
• Nice to Have:
• You possess a scientific background, ideally a Master’s or PhD in life sciences, biotech, chemistry, or a related field, allowing you to engage credibly with researchers and pharma partners regarding their work.
• Familiarity with biotech IP licensing, research collaboration agreements, or venture deal structures.
• Experience working across US and European markets and managing international stakeholder relationships.
• Interest in or exposure to decentralized science, Web3, or token-based funding models.
• Experience in building or managing a CRM or deal-tracking system from the ground up.
• Opportunity to engage with enterprise pharma, institutional investors, and cutting-edge research partnerships on a global scale.
• A team that prioritizes substance over titles, speed over processes, and values individuals who have worked their way up.
• Competitive compensation package that includes potential token-based incentives.
