Combo Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) – Construction, Industrial Hygiene

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Oversee the extensive Safety Management System and Worker Protection Plan.

• Collaborate with site safety personnel and the Site Technical Representative to address safety concerns.

• Convey safety requirements and objectives to employees.

• Facilitate safety and pre-job meetings.

• Execute and record daily safety inspections using the Safety/Housekeeping Inspection Checklist, submitting findings to the STR.

• Conduct and document safety observations of staff, sharing the results with the STR, SRMC Safety Personnel, and SRMC Industrial Hygiene.

• Participate in fact-finding meetings related to injuries, illnesses, and incidents.

• Carry out exposure assessments to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.

• Conduct or supervise industrial hygiene surveys.

• Gather and send samples for analysis.

• Assess and manage health hazards.

• Maintain technical expertise in industrial hygiene equipment.

• Review Job Hazard Analyses during surveys and offer corrective input.

• Inform supervisors and staff of monitoring outcomes.

• Suggest controls, work practices, and personal protective equipment to mitigate exposure risks.

• Keep records of surveys, monitoring results, and equipment calibration logs.

• Provide or coordinate training specific to hazards.

• Assess plans for new operations and significant changes involving hazardous materials or carcinogens.

• Ensure safe and compliant execution of construction and industrial hygiene tasks at the Saltstone Facility, Savannah River Site.

⛳️ Requirements

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.

• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction field safety management.

• Bachelor's Degree in Safety and Health.

• Comprehensive knowledge of 29 CFR 1910/1926 and 10 CFR 851.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• Valid driver's license is required.

• Valid registration for personal vehicles operated by the candidate is necessary.

• Proof of insurance for personal vehicles operated by the candidate must be provided.

• Full-time, dedicated on-site availability is expected.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word preferred.

• Proficient in Adobe Acrobat, data analytic tools, and Visio; ability to learn additional tools as needed.
