College Persistence Advisor – PT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Oversee a caseload of undergraduate members while offering tailored advising to enhance college retention and degree attainment.

• Establish strong and consistent relationships with assigned members through regular one-on-one advising sessions and follow-up communications.

• Track academic performance, enrollment status, credit accumulation, GPA, financial aid situation, and other factors related to college persistence.

• Assist members in formulating academic, personal, financial, and career readiness objectives that align with timely graduation.

• Guide members in course selection, major exploration, navigating campus resources, and planning academic interventions.

• Identify obstacles to persistence and coordinate necessary support services, including tutoring, financial aid, wellness services, and campus assistance.

• Keep precise advising records, document member progress, and monitor milestones associated with persistence.

• Conduct individual and small-group advising sessions that emphasize academic achievement, college navigation, financial literacy, and career readiness.

• Partner with Academy staff, families, and campus stakeholders, as appropriate, to promote member retention and graduation success.

• Assist members in preparing for internships, exploring career paths, considering graduate school options, and making initial career transitions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in higher education, professional school counseling, or a related field (postsecondary or college coach).

• At least three years of demonstrated success in college advising (including roles in student-facing nonprofits or higher education).

• Experience in academic, high school, or college advising.

• Proficiency in designing and facilitating advisory lessons.
