College Admissions Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Facilitate personalized strategy sessions with students starting from 9th grade to assess academic performance, extracurricular participation, career goals, and personal aspirations, while crafting customized college admissions strategies.

• Maintain ongoing communication with students and their families regarding college admissions objectives and progress.

• Conduct research and analysis on each student’s profile to create a balanced list of reach, target, and likely colleges that align with their academic interests, preferences, and family budget.

• Support students in brainstorming, outlining, and refining their personal statements and supplemental essays.

• Oversee application timelines and guide students in the accurate completion of their applications.

• Advise on course selection, standardized testing, and extracurricular activities.

• Review and enhance student resumes.

• Prepare students for college interviews through mock interviews and constructive feedback.

• Stay updated on college admissions trends, standards, and application requirements.

• Engage in webinars for students and parents, promoting Kaplan’s visibility.

• Offer consulting services in curriculum development, counselor training, product strategy, and content creation.

• A Bachelor's degree is required.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in college counseling.

• In-depth knowledge of the college application process, including admissions criteria, financial aid, scholarship options, and academic planning.

• Strong skills in communication, presentation, and facilitating meetings.

• Exceptional writing abilities to effectively engage with students and families and navigate the essay editing process.

• Outstanding organizational skills along with the capacity to manage multiple students and monitor their progress throughout the application cycle.

• Must possess authorization to work in the United States.
