Collections Specialist, Medical Biller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Timely and accurate submission of invoices to payers for products and services rendered.

• Comprehends the terms and fee schedules associated with all contracts relevant to the invoices submitted.

• Accurately assesses quantities and pricing for billed medications.

• Confirms that services and products are properly authorized and that all necessary documentation is maintained.

• Ensures invoices are submitted for services and products that have been appropriately ordered and confirmed as delivered.

• Reviews payments received for accuracy and properly applies them to the system.

• Verifies that the payments received align with the established fee schedule.

• Accurately applies payments to the respective patient accounts.

• Guarantees that secondary bills and patient invoices are dispatched within 48 hours following payment receipt.

• Alerts the Reimbursement Manager regarding any overpayments and/or duplicate payments for the same service.

• Transfers payments that belong to other offices within 48 hours of receipt.

• Conducts follow-ups on submitted invoices to ensure timely payment.

• Makes calls to confirm that submitted claims have been received and are currently being processed.

• Sends correspondence to the patient or responsible party if their insurance provider does not make payments within a reasonable time frame.

• Generates and sends out statements and collection letters.

• Follows up on all denials within 48 hours of receipt.

• Ensures adherence to policies and guidelines stipulated in the contract terms and fee schedule.

• Abides by HIPAA regulations when accessing and sharing patient information to uphold confidentiality for both patients and the business.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.

• 0 – 6 months of prior experience in Infusion Reimbursement or Intake/Admissions.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word.
