This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate new applicant data to facilitate both automated and manual credit decisions.
• Collaborate with data gathered from business financial statements, tax documents, and banking integrations (such as Quickbooks, Netsuite, Plaid, etc.).
• Utilize insights from related product usage (like business banking and payment platforms) to assess risk profiles.
• Create dashboards or tools to highlight real-time indicators for underwriting and fraud detection.
• Observe account-level behavior after origination, including spending and payment trends, credit utilization, and customer engagement.
• Detect signs of declining creditworthiness through internal data and external credit reports (for instance, Experian, D&B).
• Monitor and analyze delinquency trends and payment reliability to enhance risk models and collection strategies.
• Develop behavioral segments and performance cohorts for proactive management of accounts.
• Assist with P&L analysis of the unsecured credit card product, encompassing interchange income, interest revenue, rewards costs, and charge-off rates.
• Construct models to assess customer lifetime value, profitability segmentation, and risk-adjusted returns.
• Aid in identifying loss drivers and opportunities for margin enhancement.
• 5–15 years of direct experience in Collections risk management; preferred experience includes both a bank or regulated card program and a fintech environment.
• Practical knowledge of the entire delinquency lifecycle: DPD bucket management, treatment strategy formulation, charge-off policies, recovery curve modeling, and net loss attribution.
• Experience managing or collaborating with third-party collections agencies — knowledgeable about liquidation economics, placement timing trade-offs, cost-to-collect dynamics, and how to develop a KPI framework that ensures vendor accountability without fostering adverse incentives.
• Independently analytical: skilled in SQL and Python or R; able to create roll rate matrices, cure rate cohorts, and recovery forecasts from raw data instead of relying on pre-made reports.
• Familiar with the regulatory landscape governing collections: understanding of FDCPA obligations, Reg F communication rules, UDAAP considerations in treatment strategy design, and state-level restrictions impacting contact and remediation practices.
• Comprehends the unique dynamics of SMB collections — cash flow seasonality, the owner as guarantor, and the limitations of standard consumer treatment logic.
• Comprehensive health and wellness programs.
• Generous paid time off and flexible working arrangements.
• Competitive salary with opportunities for performance-based bonuses.
• Professional development and continuous learning opportunities.
