This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Engaging with customers to effectively negotiate the collection of overdue, defaulted, or written-off loans, as well as other payments.
• Serving as the intermediary between creditors and customers by managing overdue accounts.
• Advising and influencing customers regarding payment options for debt recovery.
• Implementing strategies for collection processes and procedures, including negotiating payment plans in accordance with company-approved guidelines.
• Establishing positive rapport with various customer types over the phone.
• Conducting both inbound and outbound calls to collect debts.
• Recognizing the importance of maintaining a professional attitude when managing contacts, including demonstrating empathy, assertiveness, tact, and resilience.
• Meeting established revenue targets and call quality goals.
• Utilizing questioning and listening skills to facilitate effective communication via telephone, email, chat, and text.
• Comprehending, adhering to, and enforcing all corporate policies.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a call center or customer service role.
• Preferred: Three years of collections experience in a high-volume call center, and/or bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
• Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in a fast-paced work environment is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills necessary for in-person, phone, and email interactions.
• Capacity for adaptability and flexibility in a changing environment.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, high-volume, fast-paced setting.
• Competence in reading, writing, evaluating, and applying information.
• Professional interaction and the ability to exhibit appropriate social skills.
