Coding Specialist, Physician Coding

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Conduct reviews of clinical documentation and accurately assign ICD-10 diagnosis codes as well as CPT-4 procedure codes.

• Implement evaluation and management (E/M) codes across relevant places of service.

• Code minor office procedures, specialty-specific tests and procedures, as well as minor surgical interventions.

• Adhere to established coding guidelines along with applicable state and federal regulatory standards.

• Ensure accuracy in coding and compliance to facilitate appropriate physician billing and reimbursement.

• Identify discrepancies in coding and documentation issues in line with established protocols.

• Stay updated with the latest coding guidelines, regulatory standards, and specialty-specific coding practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in physician coding — Required.

• Familiarity with E/M coding, outpatient procedures, and minor office procedures — Preferred.

• Experience in specialty-specific coding — Preferred.

• High School Diploma — Required.

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification — Required.

• Specialty-specific coding certification — Preferred.

• Must be located in one of the following remote-approved states: AL, FL, GA, ID, IN, KY, LA, MS, NC, OH, OK, OR, SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, WV, WY.
