This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Support the creation of strategic communication and educational plans related to coding.
• Develop communication and educational materials focused on coding content, competencies, and operational aspects.
• Produce presentations, instructional materials, handbooks, and various training resources.
• Facilitate training sessions covering the latest information on medical billing and coding.
• Provide mentorship to physicians and offer performance evaluations to an external vendor.
• Counsel the Physician Group and Revenue Cycle personnel on principles of coding and documentation.
• Oversee the communication and delivery of coding training for leadership and end-users.
• Conduct training through instructor-led sessions, train-the-trainer programs, virtual classrooms, webcasts, and online methods.
• Update and maintain coding training materials.
• Address and respond to coding inquiries.
• Conduct random audits of charts.
• Uphold confidentiality and complete other assigned responsibilities.
• Comply with BMC RESPECT behavioral standards.
• Bachelor’s degree or a comparable mix of formal education and experience.
• Must possess a CCS, CCS-P, CPC®, or CPC-H® credential from AHIMA or AAPC.
• A minimum of three years of experience in E/M and/or surgical coding and reimbursement activities.
• Preferred clinical background and prior experience in chart abstraction.
• Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated with the capacity to make independent, quality decisions.
• Analytical mindset and robust problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to perform efficiently under tight deadlines, high workloads, and numerous interruptions.
• Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Proficient in using various computer hardware and software systems.
• Excellent knowledge of ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT coding conventions, and E&M coding.
• Understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
• Must pass a background check prior to employment.
