Coder, Inpatient

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Implement the appropriate coding classification standards and guidelines to ensure accurate coding of medical record documentation.

• Initiate necessary provider queries to address discrepancies in documentation.

• Conduct quality assessments of records, including the verification of medical record documentation.

• Investigate errors or absent documentation in medical records to support accurate coding processes.

• Abstract and assign the correct ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for diagnoses and procedures conducted in both outpatient and inpatient settings as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in inpatient medical and surgical coding, particularly with complex procedures.

• Background in coding for trauma centers and educational institutions.

• Capability to successfully complete a coding assessment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

• Strong ability to multi-task along with excellent communication skills.

• Capacity to maintain a 95% quality assurance accuracy rate and fulfill production expectations.

• Ability to apply official coding guidelines and Coding Clinics.

• Experience in working within a remote setting.
