This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.
β’ Summarize service documentation and allocate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes along with modifiers in billing systems.
β’ Ensure proper reimbursement and adherence to established coding standards.
β’ Analyze and address coding denials.
β’ Process charge sessions in designated work queues promptly.
β’ Complete documentation in accordance with current Evaluation and Management (EM) Guidelines for providers.
β’ Verify that documentation complies with CMS Teaching Physician Rules and UofL Health policies prior to billing.
β’ Confirm that Advanced Practice Provider documentation adheres to payer-specific regulations before billing.
β’ Offer feedback and recommendations on identified weaknesses during coding reviews.
β’ Report recurring deficiencies to the Senior Manager and Compliance Educator as necessary.
β’ Achieve or surpass organizational coding production and quality benchmarks.
β’ Engage in special projects and fulfill other assigned responsibilities.
β’ Maintain regular communication with office managers, departments, and providers on a daily/weekly basis.
β’ Respond swiftly to inquiries from managers, providers, departments, and representatives.
β’ Uphold confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA privacy and security regulations.
β’ High school diploma or GED/equivalent (mandatory).
β’ One to four (1β4) years of experience in physician coding (preferred).
β’ Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credentialed by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) (mandatory).
β’ Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist Physician Based (CCS-P), or Certified Coding Assistant (CCA) accredited by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) (mandatory).
β’ Proficient in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding and modifiers.
β’ Capability to ensure coding compliance with federal, state, private health plan, organizational, and regulatory guidelines.
β’ Ability to collaborate within a team environment and achieve monthly targets.
β’ Capacity to maintain HIPAA privacy and security compliance.
β’ Ability to adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
β’ Full-time employment.
β’ Option for remote work from home in Kentucky.
β’ First shift schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
