Coder I, Inpatient

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate medical record documentation for lower acuity inpatients to assign the correct ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and DRG codes for billing, internal and external reporting, research, and regulatory compliance.

• Capable of identifying the primary diagnosis, secondary diagnoses, and surgical procedures.

• Analyze documentation and extract relevant data.

• Must uphold minimum quality and productivity standards.

• Code diagnoses and procedures for inpatient accounts.

• Assign present on admission indicators for diagnoses.

• Query clinical providers when necessary.

• Extract relevant data.

• Adhere to quality standards.

• Meet productivity benchmarks.

• Collaborate with the CDI team.

• Less than 1 year of experience.

• Certified Coding Specialist - American Health Information Management Association.
