This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
• Evaluates medical record documentation to identify suitable billing codes and required documentation.
• Assigns evaluation and management to the correct CPT code and diagnoses to the appropriate ICD-9 code.
• Collaborates with physicians to assess documentation and address coding issues.
• Provides assistance to coders with medical terminology and interpretation of policies.
• Compiles case reports and initiates follow-up for the billing process.
• Must possess one of the following coding credentials: AHIMA (CCA, CCS, or CCS-P); AAPC (CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, CPC-H-A, or one of the AAPC specialty-specific coding credentials).
• Prior coding experience or equivalent to an associate’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding is preferred.
• Skills required: Computer Systems, ICD-10 Procedure Coding System, Medical Billing and Coding, Medical Terminology.
• Up to 22 days of vacation.
