This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conducts interdisciplinary research and works alongside equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and implementation of electronic data processing systems for both product and commercial software.

• Identifies computer user requirements; evaluates system capabilities to address challenges related to program intent, output specifications, input data acquisition, programming methods, and controls; prepares operational instructions; designs and creates compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.

• Ensures compliance with software standards. Assesses user needs and software specifications to evaluate the feasibility of designs within specified time and budget constraints.

• Collaborates with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design systems and gather information regarding project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.

• Designs, develops, and enhances software systems, employing scientific analysis and mathematical models to forecast and assess the outcomes and implications of design choices.

• Oversees software system installations and monitors equipment performance to verify that specifications are fulfilled.

• Modifies existing databases and database management systems.

• Writes and codes both logical and physical database descriptions and defines identifiers for the database within the management system or guides others in coding descriptions.

• Collaborates as part of a project team to manage database development and define project scope and constraints.

• Evaluates project requests detailing database user needs to estimate the time and cost necessary to complete the project.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is required.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience with Mainframe IDMS and COBOL.

• Demonstrated creativity and adaptability in problem-solving.

• Ability to engage with clients to comprehend their needs.

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Professional demeanor.
