COBOL Developer/Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Provide assistance to development teams with support activities related to the z/OS operating system; support z/OS utilities; analyze application performance within the z/OS environment; and collaborate with DevOps technologies and tools.

• Possess programming expertise in Enterprise COBOL 4.0 or higher.

• Familiarity with the IBM platform (z/OS, DB2, CICS, JCL, TSO, MainView, Strobe, Control-M, Xpediter, Abend-Aid, File-Aid, Endevor, SDFII, Eccox or similar, IBM Sterling Connect:Direct for z/OS, Rational Developer for z Systems - RDZ or similar, and MQ Series).

• Understanding of online and batch applications (balanced line), CICS, TSO, JCL (e.g., SORT, IDCAMS), relational databases DB2 and/or CA-IDMS, VSAM files (KSDS/ESDS), DUMP analysis, and utilizing Endevor.

• Experience as an analyst on the mainframe platform.

• Proven experience in developing CICS transactions (multithreading).

• Knowledge in relational database modeling and performance analysis.

• Awareness of service-oriented architecture (SOA).

• Understanding of code quality and performance assessment for mainframe applications.

• Experience utilizing CICS access interfaces, CICS/WEB, Broker, MQ Series.

• Familiarity with CICS structure (definitions and configurations).

• Business modeling capabilities using CA-GEn 8 or higher.

• Minimum educational requirement: High school diploma.

• Programming knowledge in Enterprise COBOL 4.0 or higher.
