Coastal Restoration Project Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Develop, oversee, and enhance coastal conservation and restoration initiatives, strategies, and techniques for extensive regions along the Texas coastline.

• Determine coastal restoration priorities and identify opportunities to bolster restoration efforts across diverse ecosystems and at the watershed level.

• Organize training sessions and workshops to expand restoration initiatives.

• Assist in collaborative coastal restoration and monitoring endeavors.

• Keep abreast of the latest developments and scientific advancements in coastal restoration and management.

• Create resources to facilitate collaborative restoration efforts, including recommendations, restoration plans, and guidance documents.

• Investigate and pinpoint intricate, innovative solutions to challenges in coastal restoration.

• Cultivate relationships with coastal communities and promote collaborative, inclusive problem-solving.

• Formulate restoration and monitoring plans that emphasize scientific data, equity, and long-term resilience through adaptive management.

• Offer technical leadership and support to the Texas business unit, the Texas Resilient Coast Program, and the Texas Landscape Initiatives team.

⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS, law, or business degree with 5 years of experience in natural resource management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proven experience in negotiating complex agreements.

• Experience in a supervisory role.

• Proficiency in communicating with the public and/or media, both in written and verbal forms.

• Familiarity with applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and web browsers.

• Knowledge of principles related to coastal restoration and monitoring.

• Background in training and curriculum design, including the organization and facilitation of workshops.
