This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Designing, integrating, deploying, and maintaining extensive cloud-based solutions, systems, and services.
• Ensuring optimal operation of cloud functions in alignment with industry best practices.
• Engaging with users and use cases to provide systems support, define system architecture, and make recommendations based on user requirements, followed by implementation, testing, user training, and deployment of open-source solutions.
• Diagnosing incidents, identifying root causes, resolving and documenting issues, and implementing preventive strategies.
• Monitoring existing systems and infrastructure, addressing performance issues within the cloud system, and updating and maintaining the cloud infrastructure.
• Delivering quality performance metrics within the scope of the assigned project, including project journals, status reports, and other standard documentation.
• Collaborating with other organizations in the cloud-edge ecosystem on international projects and within open-source communities.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and participate in international events and meetings.
• Working alongside development teams to escalate support issues, collaborating with the use cases and solutions team during discovery and demo sessions, and contributing to the open-source community with the community team.
• Writing and updating software documentation and project reports.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Practical experience in cloud systems integration and support utilizing open-source technologies.
• Familiarity with Cloud Management platforms and their related technologies.
• Understanding the implications of managing virtualized infrastructures and orchestrating the underlying subsystems.
• Experience in developing and maintaining a Ruby codebase for system applications, with knowledge in computing systems integration and interaction with operating system facilities such as I/O, networking, and virtualization.
• Experience integrating computing systems, particularly concerning virtualization, storage, and networking.
• Knowledge of KVM/QEMU virtualization, including qcow2 and Virtual Machine management; experience with storage systems (usage and administration) like NAS and SAN for VM disk image storage; and understanding of the Linux networking stack, including VLAN protocols, packet filtering, basic routing protocols, Open vSwitch, and DPDK.
• Experience in writing Terraform modules and managing virtualized infrastructure deployments using Terraform.
• Familiarity with deploying and utilizing monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus, designing monitoring metrics and data structures, and analyzing usage reports derived from monitoring data.
• Proficiency in English at a professional or native-equivalent level, with excellent clarity and expression in both written and spoken communication.
• Strong customer service orientation, emphasizing responsiveness and user satisfaction.
• Clear communication and documentation skills with strong written and verbal English, promoting asynchronous collaboration and visibility of work.
• Self-management and accountability, with the ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and take ownership of tasks and deadlines.
• Technical autonomy and tool proficiency, demonstrating confidence in using Git, CI/CD, remote collaboration tools (Slack, Zoom, GitHub, etc.), and solving problems without direct supervision.
