This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Collaborate with our Security Operations teams to establish and execute best practices for Cloud Service Provider configurations, particularly for Azure and other cloud platforms.
• Design, implement, and coordinate a multi-tenant strategy for service offerings related to databases, container platforms, authentication, certificates, and product registries, among others.
• Create and uphold performance testing strategies, frameworks, and environments within the cloud.
• Develop and maintain processes for tracking costs and utilization across all Cloud Service Providers.
• Produce documentation for Cloud Service Provider offerings that includes use cases, best practices, and implementation specifics.
• Cultivate and sustain technical relationships with our primary Cloud Service Providers.
• Implement and maintain a secure, scalable infrastructure platform for delivering Cloud Services applications.
• Ensure internal and external SLAs consistently meet or exceed expectations, while continuously monitoring and improving system-centric KPIs.
• Develop tools to automate the deployment, monitoring, and operation of the overall platform.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to provide application support, manage incidents, and troubleshoot issues.
• Offer ongoing maintenance and support for internal tools to enhance system health and reliability.
• Assist customers with on-site deployments as necessary.
• Implement and manage observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing) for performance insights, preferably using Otel and Grafana Stack.
• Demonstrated expertise in cloud service providers and best practices for implementation and configuration, ideally managing Azure for multiple teams within a SaaS product delivery company.
• Proven experience with microservices architecture, emphasizing Java-based services.
• Experience applying chaos engineering methodologies to assess and enhance system resilience.
• Proficient in diagnosing performance issues, including time consumption analysis, resource allocation, and optimization recommendations.
• Familiarity with performance testing methodologies and tools to evaluate system behavior under load.
• Experience deploying and utilizing observability tools such as Prometheus and the Grafana suite.
• Proven track record in designing and executing performance test plans (load, stress, soak, and spike testing) to ensure application services can handle 500+ transactions per second (TPS) within specified latency and error-rate limits.
• Hands-on experience with performance/load testing tools like JMeter, Gatling, and Azure Load Testing.
• Experience fine-tuning and validating autoscaling (Kubernetes/OpenShift HPA, Azure scale sets) to meet required TPS under varying loads without exceeding cost or resource limitations.
• Experience optimizing Kafka (partitioning, consumer group sizing, throughput/latency trade-offs) and other messaging/queuing components to maintain target transaction rates.
• Familiarity with Azure-native monitoring and diagnostics (Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics) to correlate throughput, latency, and error metrics during testing.
• Proven experience with Security and Compliance best practices (SOC2, HIPAA, ISO27001) and implementing controls that support high-velocity software delivery teams.
• Proficient in Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
• Expertise in troubleshooting, support escalation, optimizing on-call processes, and documenting knowledge.
• A strong passion for Infrastructure as Code, automation, and developing solutions that enable developers to operate swiftly and securely.
• Familiarity with the infrastructure management and operations lifecycle concepts and ecosystem.
• Experience managing and maintaining production systems in a Linux and public cloud environment.
• Previous experience with high-performance or distributed systems, with a commitment to hiring at various experience levels.
• Working knowledge of industry best practices in information security.
• Prior experience in building or maintaining large-scale Cloud services.
• Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
