Cloud Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Leverage a variety of cloud technologies to assist Centric Cloud clients.

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of a scalable, reliable, and highly available platform for Centric’s C8 cloud application.

• Address and resolve urgent customer issues in the public cloud.

• Execute customer deployments, migrations, and upgrades within cloud environments.

• Support automation initiatives, including coding tasks.

• Oversee, troubleshoot, maintain, and manage servers across various cloud environments.

• Create, manage, and sustain cloud networking components.

• Conduct database and server backups and restorations.

• Assist in ensuring adherence to security protocols and the safeguarding of customer data.

• Carry out other administrative duties in cloud environments as instructed.

• Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, and Support teams to resolve issues effectively.

• Foster strong working relationships with members of cross-functional teams.

• Recommend process enhancements and improved operational efficiencies.

• Report to the Senior Director of Cloud Operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related technology field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 5 years of experience working with public cloud infrastructure: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Advanced knowledge of Linux or open-source technologies.

• Proficiency in containerization technologies, including Kubernetes.

• Strong understanding of cloud networking and security principles.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure and Configuration as Code practices.

• In-depth knowledge of microservices and DevOps methodologies.

• More than 3 years of experience in incident response and major incident management.

• Experience with Docker, Rancher, virtualization, VPN, Kafka, and RDP technologies.

• Advanced skills in both Linux and Windows environments.

• Experience with Confluence/Jira, Nagios, SSO, and SQL is highly preferred.
