Cloud Migration Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Evaluate on-premises hosts and conduct discovery across business processes, CPU, memory, storage, dependencies, and runtime patterns to assess migration readiness.

• Examine workloads based on functionality, business criticality, resiliency requirements, and interruption tolerance to establish suitable cloud compute placement.

• Strategize and allocate cloud infrastructure capacity for migration, testing, and production execution.

• Carry out UAT and production parallel testing, compare results, document findings, and resolve discrepancies until closure.

• Implement performance tuning and optimization to ensure migrated workloads are stable, scalable, efficient, and ready for production.

• Collaborate with application engineering, infrastructure, and platform teams to finalize migration plans, release strategies, validation criteria, and rollback considerations.

• Oversee release readiness, carry out production deployment tasks, and complete post-release checkout and validation processes.

• Assist with the decommissioning of legacy on-premises hosts following successful migration and validation.

• Design, enhance, and implement automation frameworks and AI-assisted solutions for efficient, large-scale cloud migrations.

• Document migration procedures, operational insights, risks, and best practices to refine the execution model.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.

• 3–5 years of practical engineering experience in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

• Professional expertise in Python, Java, or a comparable programming/scripting language.

• Strong fundamentals in Unix/Linux.

• Capability to troubleshoot application, deployment, environment, and runtime issues.

• Familiarity with SDLC practices, CI/CD delivery models, change management, and Kubernetes-based deployments.

• Resilience, emotional intelligence, and an emphasis on agile delivery.

• Advanced proficiency in Oral English.

• Advanced proficiency in Spanish.

• Familiarity with cloud-native foundations or AI coding assistants (preferred).
