Cloud Infrastructure Technology Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and implement cloud architectures (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) that meet the City’s requirements

• Transition applications and data to the cloud with minimal service interruption

• Enhance cost efficiency and performance of cloud environments

• Automate the deployment and management of infrastructure using DevOps tools (Terraform, Ansible, ARM Templates, etc.)

• Work in conjunction with security teams to establish protective measures (e.g., encryption, RBAC, private networks)

• Guarantee high availability and resilience of cloud services

• Create documentation for architectures, procedures, and best practices

• Provide training to internal teams on cloud tools and processes.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)

• At least 5 years of experience in infrastructure administration, including a minimum of 3 years working with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)

• Possession of certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or similar is a plus

• Expertise in Azure (or AWS/GCP): virtual machines, networking, storage, security

• Familiarity with DevOps tools (Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines)

• Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless computing (Functions, Lambda)

• Comprehension of cloud security issues (Zero Trust, IAM, etc.)

• Capability to collaborate in a team and engage with non-technical stakeholders

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to tackle complex problems
