This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and develop cloud infrastructure on GCP utilizing infrastructure as code methodologies.
• Oversee cloud networking elements such as VPCs, load balancers, DNS, Cloud Router, NAT, and firewall configurations.
• Administer and enhance cloud compute resources, including GCE instances, Cloud Run, and associated services.
• Construct and sustain CI/CD pipelines employing tools like GitHub Actions or Google Cloud Build to facilitate dependable and repeatable deployments.
• Create and uphold observability frameworks including metrics collection, log aggregation, and dashboards to provide actionable insights for engineering and research teams.
• Enforce and manage security and compliance measures suitable for a regulated healthcare research setting.
• Supervise cloud services, encompassing backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Assist in the deployment and upkeep of internal applications along with their foundational infrastructure.
• Advocate for containerization best practices and assist with the deployment of containerized workloads.
• Collaborate with diverse teams to guarantee seamless integration with current systems and workflows.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and deployments.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams.
• Keep abreast of cloud technology trends and assess new tools and methodologies relevant to the organization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong expertise in GCP; equivalent experience with AWS or Azure will also be considered.
• Proficiency in Linux administration and comfort operating in Linux-based environments via the command line.
• Practical experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or Pulumi.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Google Cloud Build, or similar tools).
• Solid comprehension of cloud networking, including VPC design, load balancers, DNS, NAT, and management of firewall rules.
• Hands-on experience with metrics collection and the creation of operational dashboards.
• Experience in scripting or automating infrastructure tasks using Python or a similar programming language.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on producing clear technical documentation.
