Cloud Engineering Technical Leader

📋 Description

• Oversee the technical design and execution of advanced cloud engineering projects across various teams.

• Create and develop scalable cloud architecture and infrastructure solutions.

• Offer specialized knowledge on application infrastructure, cloud architecture, and platform engineering.

• Design and manage both public and private cloud infrastructure along with management platforms.

• Lead automation efforts and strategies for streamlining development, deployment, and operational processes.

• Direct deployment strategies and capacity planning within development teams.

• Assess cloud infrastructure usage to enhance performance and reduce costs.

• Convert requirements into cloud architecture and infrastructure solutions in collaboration with Product Management, Engineering, Security, and business teams.

• Provide guidance to teams and stakeholders on cloud configuration, architecture, and migration strategies.

• Implement security standards for cloud infrastructure, production access, and change management processes.

• Recognize and address technical and operational risks.

• Enhance the availability, performance, scalability, and stability of systems, services, and products at scale.

• Review cloud platforms, technologies, and engineering practices, and suggest improvements.

• Convey technical trade-offs and synchronize architecture, priorities, and outcomes with cross-functional teams.

• Mentor engineers and disseminate knowledge on cloud engineering, automation, security, and operational best practices.

• Stay informed about cloud technologies, industry trends, and emerging engineering methodologies to shape technical strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or PhD with 3+ years of relevant experience.

• 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing cloud-based software, systems, or platform solutions.

• Proficiency in designing and managing cloud infrastructure for availability, performance, scalability, reliability, and security.

• Experience leading the technical design and implementation of complex cloud engineering projects across multiple teams.

• Familiarity with infrastructure automation, deployment strategies, capacity planning, or cloud infrastructure optimization.

• Preferred: experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or comparable cloud platforms.

• Preferred: experience with cloud-native technologies, infrastructure as code, containerization, orchestration, and automated deployment methodologies.

• Preferred: experience with infrastructure cost analysis, capacity planning, performance optimization, and maintaining highly available systems at scale.

• Preferred: understanding of cloud security best practices, production access controls, change management, and risk mitigation.

• Preferred: track record of providing technical leadership and mentorship while influencing cloud architecture and engineering decisions.
