Cloud Engineer I – Cloud Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Monitor and record work while documenting task specifics within issue and project management platforms.

• Assist in the upkeep and support of cloud infrastructure utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies with guidance from senior engineers.

• Help with the routine administration and maintenance of cloud environments across AWS and Azure.

• Oversee the health, performance, and reliability of cloud platforms, troubleshooting operational challenges as they arise.

• Execute operating system patching, updates, and conduct disaster recovery testing.

• Implement cloud security best practices in alignment with organizational standards and policies.

• Aid in application and infrastructure deployments via CI/CD pipelines and automated workflows.

• Develop and sustain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge base articles.

• Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to facilitate cloud operations and deployment efforts.

• Engage in a shared on-call rotation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Knowledge of AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.

• Experience in managing Windows and/or Linux systems, including user and group administration.

• Understanding of networking essentials such as subnets, firewalls, DNS, VPNs, and load balancers.

• Basic proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.

• Experience with version control systems like Git.

• Exposure to CI/CD tools and deployment workflows including GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, OpenSearch, Nagios, or CheckMK.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.

• Willingness to assist with occasional off-hours maintenance or operational tasks as required.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
